DSS Valves is seeking a driven customer service/inside sales professional who is looking for a growth opportunity within a dynamic organization.
Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, this position requires an individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a customer service focus who can excel in a high paced and dynamic environment. This position provides quotations and proposals through to successful completion of sale with first class customer service as a primary goal of all customer interactions.
- Prepare quotations in a quick, accurate and timely manner for a wide range of valve products, parts, accessories, actuators, and controls. Following customer requests or specifications and, configuring products specific to a customer’s needs.
- Be responsive, acknowledge, and provide great customer service for all customers.
- Develop and build rapport with current and potential customers through proactive customer service and communication.
- Be resourceful to adapt to customer needs.
- Work with outside vendors, internal technical, engineering, and sales resources.
- Develop product knowledge and technical expertise to assist customers in product selection.
- Provide supporting documentation, as necessary.
- Prepare and maintain quotations and customer information using Global Shop CRM software.
- Serve as a back up for order processing, entering in customer orders and providing status updates.
- Other duties and tasks as may be required.
- Natural collaborator with the ability to assess customer needs and effectively utilize varying resources to build and develop relationships.
- Proven ability and interest in supporting and mentoring others.
- Actively build strong relationships with our outside sales team to jointly offer best customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills and responsiveness to customers, in person, on the phone, and via email.
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic

- Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and improve with the willingness to adapt to change.
- Strong business acumen.
- Intermediate technical knowledge with strong mechanical aptitude
- Detail focused nature and good with basic math.
- Must be able to work independently as well as with a team.
- Flexibility to learn special needs or requests of ongoing long-term customers.
- Experience in the Engineering, Industrial and/or Manufacturing Industries.
- Highly engaging with the ability to converse in technical discussions with customers and potential customers.
- High school diploma required, college degree a plus.
- Computer savvy with strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- High School diploma or equivalent. College or Technical School is a plus.
