Industrial Painter – Metal Fabrication Shop

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Painter to join our metal fabrication team. This is a Full-Time position that involves preparing metal surfaces, applying industrial coatings, and maintaining paint equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

- Apply paint directly to metal, and touch-up coatings using spray equipment and brushes

- Prepare metal surfaces by sanding, washing, and sandblasting

- Mask and unmask parts according to specifications

- Mix paints for proper color, viscosity, and consistency

- Inspect work before, during, and after painting to ensure quality standards, including mil thickness and gloss checks

- Clean and maintain painting equipment such as pumps, tanks, heaters, and spray guns

- Flush tanks and lines during color changes

- Transport materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or carts

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Follow all company procedures and safety requirements

Requirements

- Previous experience as an industrial painter

- Ability to operate a forklift

- Ability to read simple shop drawings

- Ability to read and use a tape measure

- Strong attention to detail and quality

- Good verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Must be reliable and able to work well with others

- Ability to work flexible hours if needed.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

- Ability to stand for extended periods

- Ability to work in a paint booth and active manufacturing environment

Work Environment

- Exposure to paint fumes, noise, and moving equipment

- Work primarily in a paint booth environment with occasional outdoor work
