What You Bring

- BS degree in human resources. business administration or other related field

- 3-5 years of human resources experience with considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration

- Must be willing to be boots on the ground in a manufacturing environment

- During mill visits, must have the ability to tolerate extremely ambient temperatures up to 160°F and noise levels that can reach 120 decibels

- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- PHR/SPHR certification preferred

- Proficient with MS Office and advanced in Excel

Your Mission

As an HR Generalist at Gerdau, you’ll be the go-to partner for our frontline teams and leadership. You’ll help drive employee engagement, ensure compliance, and support the full employee lifecycle — all while navigating the unique challenges of a rugged industrial environment.

What You’ll Do

- Be a People Champion: Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.

- Drive Engagement: Organize events and initiatives that build morale and connection.

- Support Development: Coordinate training, performance reviews, and succession planning.

- Ensure Compliance: Keep us aligned with federal and state employment laws and maintain accurate personnel records.

- Maintain Compensation: Administer wage and salary policies; and respond to employee questions related to Compensation plans and programs.

- Have a Voice in Goal Setting: Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

- Communicate with Impact: Translate policies and programs into clear, actionable messages.

- Be a Trusted Advisor: Guide leaders through employee issues with empathy and expertise.
