POSITION TITLE: HEALTH SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTALTRAINING SUPERVISOR

LOCATION: MIDLAND, TEXAS

FLSA CLASS: EXEMPT

FLSA CLASS: SR. DIRECTOR HSQ & TRAINING

Position Summary:

This position supports the development, coordination, and delivery of HS&E training for new and existing employees, including core oil and gas specialty courses such as RigPass/Safeland orientation, H₂S awareness, OSHA hazard recognition, First Aid/CPR/AED, Smith System defensive driving, and other task-specific and regulatory HS&E training. Training is tailored to operational risk and reinforced through real-world examples and field engagement. The role maintains and administers all HS&E training through the KPA Flex Learning Management System, ensuring accurate records, refresher cycles, and reporting for managers and supervisors. The position analyzes training effectiveness using employee feedback, incident trends, and observation data, and adjusts training content accordingly.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Coordinate and deliver HS&E training for all employee groups and functions, including operations, transportation, maintenance, and support roles

- Conduct in-person HS&E onboarding for all new hires, ensuring consistent messaging, engagement, and understanding

- Deliver refresher, corrective, and targeted training for existing employees based on risk, incidents, observations, and trends

- Partner with Operations, HS&E leadership, and supervisors to align training schedules with field execution needs

- Develop, update, and maintain HS&E training materials including presentations, facilitator guides, participant materials, and assessments

- Ensure training content aligns with company HS&E policies, procedures, risk profiles, and regulatory requirements

- Incorporate adult learning principles, field examples, and lessons learned to improve retention and behavior change

- Support development of role-based and task-specific training pathways

- Maintain and administer HS&E training within KPA Flex LMS

- Assign training, track completion, manage refresher cycles, and ensure accurate training records

- Generate and distribute routine and ad-hoc training reports to managers and supervisors

- Support continuous improvement of LMS structure, training libraries, and reporting dashboards

- Conduct analysis of training effectiveness using employee feedback, assessments, incident data, and observation trends

- Identify gaps in knowledge, skill, or execution and recommend targeted training solutions

- Track and trend training performance metrics and learning outcomes

- Adjust training content and delivery methods based on performance data and field feedback

- Develop, track, and communicate HS&E training KPIs, including completion rates, overdue training, and effectiveness indicators

- Provide leadership with clear visibility into training performance and emerging risk areas

- Support HS&E leadership with data for management reviews, audits, and customer inquiries

- Maintain strong field presence to understand real-world conditions and reinforce training concepts

- Support supervisors and managers with coaching tools, toolbox content, safety moments, and job-specific learning reinforcement

- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action development where training gaps are identified

- Support regulatory compliance training requirements as needed

- Assist with audits, inspections, and customer reviews related to training and competence

- Perform other HS&E-related duties consistent with the role and business needs


Other Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of experience in HS&E and HS&E training

- Demonstrated experience delivering in-person training to field and operational employees

- Strong knowledge of HS&E principles, hazard recognition, and risk control

- Experience administering or working within an LMS, preferably KPA Flex

- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications


Preferred Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience in HS&E and HS&E training

- Demonstrated experience delivering in-person training to field and operational employees

- Strong knowledge of HS&E principles, hazard recognition, and risk control

- Experience administering or working within an LMS, preferably KPA Flex

- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

- Prior experience delivering instructor-led HS&E training in oil and gas, energy services, or industrial environments

- Qualified or authorized to instruct industry-recognized HS&E courses, including:

- RigPass, Basin United, or equivalent oil and gas orientation programs

- Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) Awareness and Safety

- First Aid, CPR, and AED

- Smith System Defensive Driving or equivalent defensive driving program

- Field credibility and practical mindset

- Strong organizational and coordination skills

- Data-driven decision making

- Continuous improvement mindset

- Ability to influence without authority
