The HSE Advisor is responsible for providing hands-on health, safety, and environmental support to field operations in and around the Midland, TX region. This role ensures the effective implementation of the company’s HSE policies and procedures, while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The HSE Advisor will work closely with field personnel, supervisors, and client representatives to build a strong safety culture and deliver on project-specific safety goals.
Conduct regular field inspections, hazard assessments, and audits to ensure safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
Provide on-site HSE support and coaching to operational teams, helping to identify risk and implement corrective actions.
Facilitate site-specific HSE orientation, onboarding, and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors.
Support the development and execution of project-specific HSE plans and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
Lead or assist in incident investigations, including documentation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive measures.
Interface with client HSE representatives to align on site requirements and communicate safety performance.
- Monitor and track leading and lagging indicators, assisting in the preparation of HSE reports and metrics.
- Ensure consistent use and maintenance of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency response supplies.
- Stay up to date with changes in HSE regulations and best practices, and relay relevant updates to the field team.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of HSE experience, preferably in the oil & gas, construction, or environmental services industries.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel daily to field sites in the Midland/Odessa region.
- OSHA 30-Hour (Construction or General Industry) certification required.
- HAZWOPER 40-hour certification highly preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification required (or obtained within 60 days of hire).
- Professional HSE credentials such as CHST, STS, CSP, or CIH are a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Ability to assess risk quickly and recommend practical, compliant solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a hands-on, field-first mindset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Primarily field-based with frequent exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions, including high heat, dust, and uneven terrain.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs as part of field safety inspections.
- Office work required for reporting, documentation, and planning.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check, and pre-employment drug screening, and breath alcohol test (BAT).
