The HSE Supervisor will assist with the management and the implementation of the Project Health, Safety and Environmental Management System and ensure compliance with the CBI Management System. Provide on-site HSE support for project
Responsibilities
- Promotes the Company in building and engaging in a proactive safety culture
- Ensures that the project is in compliance with HSE policy, guidelines, applicable standards and instructions of HSE management system
- Serve as HSE subject matter expert and provide information to project about HSE related performance, issues and status of compliance to the HSE management system
- Provide information to management about recommendations for process improvements and decision proposals
- Performs and reviews work site hazard assessments, identifies unsafe acts/conditions or unsafe behaviors
- Provides support, guidance and recommendations for corrective action to project operations management team
- Perform new hire and contractor orientations and recording and maintaining all documentation
- Participate, prepare and present required safety material in Company and customer meetings
- Leading or participating in incident investigations including injury, near misses, environmental and/or equipment damage along with injury case management
- Assure preparation and maintenance of project environmental plans
- Familiarization with all company and project specific environmental terms, requirements and deliverables
- Advise in all project matters related to Environmental
- Develop key strategies to maintain environmental compliance on project
- Coordinate and support Behavior Based Safety system
- Identification of applicable regulatory requirements specific to the scope of work including monitoring compliance
- Ensuring site specific HSE plans, procedures and instructions are implemented
- Supporting project HAZID’s and other risk reviews
- Assure preparation and maintenance of project Risk Register and Corrective Action Tracking
- Conducting reviews and audits of facilities or projects
- Developing and overseeing HSE plans to meet project objectives, targets and goals aligned to the corporate strategy
- Attend and provide input to forums such as kick off meetings, constructability reviews, readiness reviews, etc.
- Track permit requirements for sites to ensure timely submissions, documentation and closeout
- Maintaining, issuing and instructing workers on the care, use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Developing, coordinating and implementing the site specific emergency response plans
- Assisting or aiding in the development of site specific safe work plans, policies, procedures, practices, job hazard analysis (JHA), and communicating and providing education to crew members
- Providing guidance, assistance and coordination in the implementation and maintenance of the Toolbox talk, Field Level Risk Assessment 5X5 (FLRA) and daily stretching programs
- Assisting and providing promotional information to site supervision for the weekly safety meeting, and conducting when required
- Promoting and participating in the site incentive programs to improve worker and crew involvement and awareness of workplace safety
- Assisting and providing injured workers with prompt first aid or medical attention, and administering and maintaining records of the company modified work program
- Notifying the project team and the HSES Manager of all incidents
- Following all site-specific safety requirements and communicating them to crew, supervision and all visitors
- Maintaining HSE certifications and attending related training courses as required
- Attending and participating in site related safety committees and meetings, and providing feedback and documentation to site supervision as required
- Reviewing project trends, statistics and related HSES performance. Providing input and support for implementation and improvement of action items from these trends and statistics
- Participating and coordinating client specific leading indicator, Behavior Based Observation and inspection programs- 5 + years within the Energy Industry through all phases of project delivery
- Functional construction, industry and leadership expertise.
- Professional Membership of relevant institutions - HSES - NCSO required
- Ability to work as a team member as well as act as team leader.
- Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
- Be conversant with local HSE laws, codes, regulations and norms.
