About the Role

Reporting to the Recruitment Lead, HR, the Recruiter will support the Human Resources department throughout the summer hiring process, ensuring a seamless and efficient recruitment experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates while providing administrative and operational support to the HR team.


Key Responsibilities:

Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (Lever) to sort, pre-screen, and identify potential candidates.
Conduct phone screenings to assess candidate qualifications and suitability.
Schedule and coordinate interviews for selected candidates.
Attend and assist with group interviews, providing input and supporting hiring managers in candidate evaluations.
Communicate with candidates regarding administrative matters and required documentation.
Prepare and assemble new hire employee packages.
Process new hire information and generate employment contracts through the Applicant Tracking System.
Conduct additional pre-employment screenings, including Driver’s Abstracts, Vulnerable Sector Checks, and Criminal Background Checks.
Ensure employment contracts are complete, accurate, and in compliance with company policies.
Respond to inquiries regarding the application process and provide necessary information to candidates.
Maintain and organize personnel files in accordance with privacy legislation.
Assist with employee onboarding and training sessions.
Provide general administrative support to the HR team.
Assist with HR metrics, reporting, and data entry.
Support the employee evaluation process.
Perform additional duties as assigned.


Special Conditions

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in the weeks leading up to and during the CNE’s 18-day Fair.
Comfortable working in environments with bright lights, loud noises, and large crowds.


Qualifications & Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with post-secondary education and/or experience in Human Resources (HR), Recruitment, or a related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A positive attitude, strong teamwork capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrates initiative, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and strong decision-making skills.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
Capable of providing guidance to department managers on recruitment and selection processes.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
A valid G2 or G driver’s license is considered an asset.
Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check will be required for this role.
