We are looking to add an HR & Payroll Administrator to our People & Culture and Payroll teams!

Position Title: HR & Payroll Administrator

Reports to: Manager, People & Culture & Manager, Information Systems

Department: People & Culture & Payroll

Work Location: Hybrid, based out of the Leduc, AB office

Position Summary

The primary role of the HR & Payroll Administrator is to provide administrative support for a wide range of KBL’s HR processes and projects. Duties may include support for compensation, recruitment and onboarding, training, and other HR & payroll related functions. The ideal candidate will have a background in Human Resources, excellent attention to detail, be strongly literate with systems including MSOffice and have an interest in a wide range of HR topics.

Duties and Responsibilities

People & Culture

•

Produces employment related letters using templates, including offer letters and welcome packages as requested.

•

Data entry and maintenance of the HRIS.

•

Maintains the employee files and the HR shared files.

•

Prepares materials, tracks completion, assists with first-day logistics.

Drafts and sends HR communications.

•

First point of contact for benefits & leave inquiries, assists employees with forms.

•

Makes changes, as requested, to policy documents.

•

Drafts and posts job postings.

•

Books interviews as requested.

•

Assist with the administration of various HR programs. Including recruitment, performance management, recognition and engagement.

•

Helps organize and plan employee events.

•

Enters certifications into the system and assigns training to employees as required.

Payroll

•

Set up new employees in KBL’s payroll software.

Offboard terminated employees from payroll software.

•

Serve as first point of contact for RRSP enquiries.

•

Issue and amend ROE’s as required

•

Creating, running, and distributing HR and Payroll reports as needed.

Assist with year end processing of employee tax forms and WCB reporting.

Physical Requirements

•

Long periods of sitting, computer work for extended periods. You are responsible for working safely and adequately utilizing Workplace Ergonomics to avoid injury to yourself and others.

Work Environment

•

There is a possibility of cuts, bruises, straining, disease and /or severe injury if safe work practices are not followed.

•

Work is primarily carried out indoors, at times, there may be a requirement to go outside. Therefore, there can be exposure to extreme weather in the winter months. There can be dust, noise, mud, water, smoke, and bacteria exposure.

Qualifications

•

1 year of experience as a Human Resources Administrator preferred.

•

Post secondary education in Human Resource Management preferred.

•

Knowledge of the Waste Management & Environmental industry is an asset.

•

Ability to act with discretion and treat confidential information appropriately.

•

Excellent attention to detail, organization skills and ability to multi task.

•

Excellent computer skills in MS Office.
