OVERVIEW:
The role of HR and Benefits coordinator supports the work of the HR team with coordination, scheduling, and documentation of training, updating of onboarding and offboarding, and creating new-hire and enrollment packages.
Additionally, this role acts as a key contact for driver recruitment activities for the Commercial and Residential Fuels division. This includes posting positions, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, participating in interviews as required, pre-employment checks and testing, reference verification, and creation of offers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION
•Creates job advertisements within the accepted format, placing each posting with designated media.
•Posts each new position internally and on the company’s website.
•Monitors and collates all applications.
•Arranges interviews and corresponds with candidates.
•Participates in interviews as required.
•Prepares letters of response where required.
•Books and confirms appointment for testing.
•Generates employment agreements.
ONBOARDING AND DEVELOPMENT
•Prepares the welcome packages for new employees.
•Works with managers and IT department to set up technology as required.
•Assigns mandatory training classes.
BENEFIT AND RRSP ADMINISTRATION
•Creates benefit and RRSP enrolment packages and delivers enrolment presentations as required.
•Responds to employee questions.
•Ensures accurate completion of required paperwork and waivers, where required.
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION
•Maintain confidential employee files, filing all employee related materials promptly.
•Ensures the timely completion and reporting of WSIB accidents and incidents in collaboration with the HR team.
EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATION
•Enrols employees on the employee portal, training and recognition sites.
OTHER
•Leads the DriverCheck screening program.
•Holds responsibility for Driver Appreciation Week.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
•Post-secondary education in Human Resources is preferred.
•Ability to communicate in both official languages is desirable.
•2+ years in an HR function.
•CHRP, or working towards is desirable.
•Previous, proven experience in an HR administration role.
•Must be a self-starter and pro-active.
•Effective time-management skills.
•Ability to demonstrate integrity and confidentiality is essential.
OTHER
•This role may require occasional travel to other Company Offices.
