At Powerline Plus Ltd., we don’t just connect electricity—we connect people, purpose, and potential. We’re on the lookout for a dynamic, self-motivated HR Coordinator to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping our people-first culture. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, you’ll be the go-to for all things HR—bringing energy, insight, and professionalism to every conversation. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of human resources including recruitment, employee relations, labour relations, training, attendance management, policy and performance management.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
•A university degree in HR, Labour Relations, or a related discipline.
•1-3 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a unionized environment.
•Advanced knowledge of the ESA, OHRC, and employment legislation.
•Strong Microsoft Office skills—especially Excel and Outlook.
•A CHRP or CHRL designation (or working toward one) is a big plus.
•Exceptional judgment, discretion, and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Leading end-to-end recruitment—from sourcing to offer letters—with a strategic, inclusive approach.
•Initiating our RRSP and Group Benefit process to enroll new employees.
•Supporting labour relations across multiple unions (I.B.E.W. Local 353, I.U.O.E Local 793 and LiUNA Local 183), working closely with business reps.
•Conducting policy reviews and onboarding sessions
•Keeping an organized record of all employee Information including but not limited to performance reviews, disciplinary notices, and any changes to employee information.
•Ensuring compliance with legislation (ESA, OHRC, AODA, etc.) while keeping us ahead of the curve.
•Partnering with Payroll and other departments to maintain cohesive and up-to-date employee records.
•Jumping in on projects, providing strategic input, and supporting the daily flow of our HR department.
