Your Role
Your role involves a blend of Payroll, HR, and Administrative functions. In payroll, you will manage monthly full-cycle processing, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, while maintaining accurate records and addressing inquiries. In HR, you will assist with recruitment, onboarding, maintaining employee records, and serving as a point of contact for policy and payroll questions. Additionally, you will provide essential administrative support, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
HR Functions
•Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
•Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
•Maintain employee records and ensure that all HR documentation is current and compliant with regulations.
•Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and payroll issues.
•Actively contribute to and support the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
•Create and implement an annual performance review process for employees.
•Run ad hoc reports as needed for HR and operational needs.
•Organizing and managing engagement events and initiatives
•Collaborate with our external HR team and counsel on complex issues.
Payroll Functions
•Perform monthly full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including Alberta and Ontario’s payroll standards.
•Maintain payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and deductions.
•Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees in a timely manner.
•Ensure accurate remittances to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other government bodies.
Admin Functions
•Provide general administrative support, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.
•Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
•1-2 years of Human Resources experience or education (certificate, diploma, or bachelor’s degree).
•1-2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll, with a strong understanding of payroll laws and compliance.
•A strong commitment to integrating AI technologies into their daily workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity
•Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now
•The ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
•Payroll Compliance and Practitioner (PCP) designation, or working towards
