Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and articulated trucks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues accurately and perform repairs efficiently while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment.

- Repair or replace components including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems.

- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.

- Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used for each job.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating heavy machinery during repair processes.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a strong mechanical knowledge base.

- Familiarity with various types of heavy equipment including Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, and John Deere.

- Experience with diesel engine repair and maintenance is highly desirable.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: From $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
