Heavy Equipment Mechanic

RES Coal LLC is looking for full-time heavy equipment mechanics, specifically within reasonable range of Clearfield and/or Cresson. This position will work in a field setting at our active surface mines, our preparation plant in Clearfield, and occasionally at our truck shop in Clearfield. Our operations are currently located in Clearfield, Cambria, Centre, Blair, and Armstrong County.

Job Description:

The heavy equipment mechanic will work out of their company service truck working in the field doing planned major component changeouts and primarily troubleshooting and fixing unplanned breakdowns on our equipment fleets. RES has over 100 pieces of mobile equipment across 6-10 mine sites, we have spare equipment on all sites so we can properly maintain our equipment. We have our own in-house lube technicians that maintain the fluids on our equipment. We also have in-house rebuild technicians that work out of our Clearfield shop rebuilding major components.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Previous heavy equipment experience, preferably in a mining/industrial environment

· Minimum of Class B CDL

· Ability to work alone safely, and efficiently

· Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English

Preferred Qualifications:

· Stick welding experience

· Experience with CAT E.T.

· Understanding of surface mining operations

Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

Work is performed in a mine or plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms

May be required to work extended shifts or weekends

Company provided personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
