Heavy-Duty Mechanic - Open-Pit Mine

Equiped with autonomous machinery such as Caterpillar 793F trucks and Eprioc drills, newly open Iamgold Côté Gold mine's will become an industry's leader in the autonomy field. We are currently hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics for the mobile maintenance team!

Under the supervision of the mobile maintenance supervisor, the heavy equipment mechanic will be assigned responsibilities for the inspection, modification, repair, improvement and maintenance of various auxiliary mobile equipments such has (mostly Caterpillar and Epiroc):

- Shovel 60/60;

- Truck 793;

- Bulldozer;

- Grader;

- 18 tonne excavators

- Drills (PV231, D65, DM30);

- Forklifts;

- Highway trucks and trailers;

- Hysters, dozers, telehandlers, man basket (aerial platform), etc.

The main tasks that will be entrusted to him are:

- Planning and carrying out the work;

- Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems;

- Occasional welding work;

- Reading drawings and schematics

- Performing preventive maintenance;

- Choose and install mechanical components.

Requirements:

- Having a professional diploma in mobile machinery mechanic or a college diploma in mechanic;

- Having a minimum of 5 years of experience in repairing all type of machinery list above ;

- Having a Red Seal certification (HD equipment technician 421A) an asset;

- Having work as a mechanic on open-pit mine's machinery, mandatory;

- Being able to read mechanical drawing and schematics and have knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and welding;

- Being a team player;

- Having strong troubleshooting skills;

- Being able to work in different type of environnement (main garage, satellite garage, service truck):

- Having worked in the mining industry is an asset;

- Candidates located within a 3-hour radius are encouraged to apply (relocation may be considered).

Working conditions and benefits:

- Work schedule of 14 working days, followed by 14 days off, alternating day and night. The work shifts are 12 hours;

- Permanent full-time position;

- Hourly salary between 46,00$ and 54,00$;

- Overtime paid (time and a half rate) for hours worked over 40 hours per week and for work performed on Saturday and Sunday;

- Transportation allowance of 0.52$/km for the distance between your home and the mine;

- Buses are available for the worker's transportation from Sudbury and Timmins (Expense account for travel between home and the bus stop offered by employer);

- A parking is available near the site for workers who would like to drive to the site;

- Room and board provided at the worksite;

- Tools are supplied by the mine;
