Phoenix- Open Pit Mining Engineer II

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Open Pit Mining Engineer II at our Phoenix operation. The successful candidate will assist in establishing, managing, prioritizing and optimizing mid-range planning activities

Responsibilities:

- Establishing, managing, prioritizing and optimizing mid-range planning activities

- Being within the one-year window, the majority of the planning will consist of coordinating the start of new phases, infrastructure planning and movement, establishing accesses, evaluating and establishing optimal haul routes and optimizing looking for operational bottlenecks then creating/managing projects to resolve them

- Responsible for setting operational targets and reporting variances against them

- Develop and maintain close working relationships with other divisions to optimize the plans of current and future mining activities

- Take on projects associated with a progressive mining environment that are assigned on an as-needed basis

- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field required

- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in open pit mining engineering preferred

- Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership required

- Experience using Vulcan, Deswik, Whittle, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred

- Team leader, problem solver and excellent oral and written comunications skills required

- Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required

- Ability to cross-train within the mining engineering group required
