HEATING TECHNICIAN

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heating Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional HVAC and mechanical services. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing heating systems and related equipment across various property types. Duties

- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heating systems, including boilers, furnaces, and heat pumps using schematics and technical manuals.

- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC equipment such as air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and plumbing components.

- Conduct routine maintenance checks on property heating systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.

- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to repair or modify heating components.

- Read and interpret HVAC schematics, blueprints, and design plans to ensure proper installation and service procedures.

- Diagnose complex issues involving ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R systems with precision and efficiency.

- Maintain detailed service records, complete reports on repairs performed, parts used, and system conditions for each job.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards including proper handling of refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration systems.

- Operate a driver vehicle safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment between job sites.

- Collaborate with property managers or clients to assess heating needs and recommend appropriate solutions aligned with HVAC design principles.

Requirements

- Proven experience in construction or field service roles specializing in HVAC or mechanical systems.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in appliance repair, plumbing, refrigeration, or boiler maintenance.

- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design concepts, and technical manuals is essential for troubleshooting complex systems.

- Experience working with ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R systems is highly desirable.

- Ability to read electrical ohmmeters accurately and perform equipment repair using welding or mechanical techniques.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating a driver vehicle preferred.

- Knowledge of property maintenance practices including air conditioning system servicing and general mechanical upkeep.

- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently in the field under minimal supervision.

- Strong communication skills to clearly document work performed and interact effectively with clients or team members. Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
