Head Mechanic

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

Job Description

We are seeking a Head Mechanic to lead our team of road mechanics. The road mechanics repair and maintain our fleet of pickup trucks, large trucks, and specialty equipment. Some job duties include (but are not limited to):

- Ensuring the mechanics drive and work in the safest manner possible.

- General supervision and management of a team of road mechanics.

- Coaching and training road mechanics to develop their skills.

- Evaluating repair requests to determine the most efficient and cost-effective repair option is utilized (road mechanic, shop, or third party).

- Coordinating with operations supervisors and fleet coordinators to schedule repairs and ensure they are completed efficiently.

- Assisting road mechanics with procurement of parts.

- Assisting road mechanics with repairs.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience supervising mechanics

- Aptitude and Appetite to excel as a long-term member of our team

- Effective communication skills via phone and email

- Excellent customer service skills

- Ability to repair large trucks and equipment and coach others in repairs.

- Must be available for limited travel, as needed

- Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening
