This role reports to the Corporate Services Manager and focuses on maintaining and repairing vehicles, trucks, aerial devices, hydraulic systems, and equipment while following strict safety practices. Daily tasks include diagnosing issues through equipment operation, scheduling and documenting maintenance, coordinating with suppliers and operations staff, and responding to emergency breakdowns to reduce hazards and downtime.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Be familiar with all safe work practices as set out by the workplace health and safety association and company standards and work in conformity
- Perform maintenance and repair practices on small vehicles, large trucks, Aerial devices, hydraulic system, tools, and equipment
- Schedule and track maintenance, maintain records to ensure equipment is safe and reliable
- Be able to operate equipment to test for defects and avoid any unsafe conditions
- Cultivate good work relations with suppliers, supervisors and linemen to maintain overall cooperation within the company
- Respond to emergency call outs or breakdowns to minimize unsafe work conditions, environmental situations (i.e. spills) and equipment downtime
- Other duties as required may be considered part of these responsibilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent organizational, project management, communication and verbal skills with a strong commitment to customer service
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and perform all assigned duties with minimal supervision.
- Experience with trade tools and equipment
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Class A 310T Mechanic license with diesel endorsement and several years of experience in motor mechanics and hydraulics on automobiles and trucks
- 8-10 years' experience in the trade
- 2 years of welding experience
- Possession of a valid Ontario Class “DZ” and/or “A” driver’s license and good driving record
- Forklift license

Compensation Package: Hourly rate between $31.68 - $52.80, as per our collective agreement with Power Worker's Union (PWU) + Benefits + OMERS Pension Plan
The above range reflects the reasonable estimate for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, hiring compensation will be determined based on relevant qualifications, experience, skillset, education/ training, and other organizational needs.
