to lead our growing portfolio of assets.
The
General Manager, Bioenergy , will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational, financial and environmental success of Envest’s Seacliff Energy Corp. facility. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be a senior leader responsible for driving growth and enabling the next phase of the Company’s evolution.This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned operations leader with a passion for renewable energy and a track record in scaling industrial businesses. As General Manager, Bioenergy, you will have full P&L responsibility for Envest’s bioenergy platform, overseeing multiple bioenergy production sites across Ontario and future markets. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of site managers, operators, and technical experts to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, while driving growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.
You will play a central role in scaling our platform, optimizing asset performance, and delivering high-quality renewable natural gas (RNG) to market. This role requires frequent travel to sites and close coordination with the executive team, engineering, and business development.
• Oversee safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations at all bioenergy production sites.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as biogas yield, uptime, gas quality, and operating cost.
• Standardize operations across sites while allowing for site-specific flexibility.
• Champion predictive and preventive maintenance programs across all facilities.
• Directly manage a team of site-level Production Managers and support staff.
• Develop high-performing site teams through coaching, performance management, and talent development.
• Drive productivity and earnings with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and safety.
• Lead safety culture by enforcing EH&S protocols, training programs, and incident tracking in collaboration with corporate EH&S.
• Ensure environmental compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations.
• Promote continuous improvement in both leading and lagging safety indicators.
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets for the bioenergy platform.
• Deliver monthly reporting on plant performance, variances, and forecasts.
• Develop multi-year capital planning frameworks in alignment with company strategy.
• Collaborate with the finance team to support audit, funding, and reporting requirements.
• Support evaluation and integration of new bioenergy production sites and development-stage projects.
• Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including regulators, municipalities, vendors, and community partners.
• Represent with Envest at bio-energy industry forums and with external stakeholders as required.
• Provide operational leadership and insight during the construction of Envest’s second bio-energy facility located in Dundalk, Ontario.
• Lead operational improvement initiatives related to biogas yield, energy intensity, feedstock quality, and cost structure.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and best practices in the sector.
• Evaluate and implement digital tools and automation to enhance efficiency.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental), Industrial Operations, or a related discipline. Master’s degree, MBA or CPA considered an asset.
· 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial plant or energy infrastructure operations.
· Proven track record managing multi-site operations; experience with anaerobic digestion or waste-to-energy preferred.
· Demonstrated experience with operational scaling, team leadership, and P&L responsibility.
· Ability to interpret and act on data and KPIs to improve plant outcomes.
· Strong leadership presence with ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
· Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize initiatives, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
