General Laborer-crane operator

Job Posting: General Laborer – Steel Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious General Laborer to support our steel production operations. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and opportunities to develop skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.

Key Responsibilities

· Safely operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment

· Consistently wear and follow all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures

· Assist with packaging, banding, and handling of steel coils and materials

· Support the operation of slitting lines to cut and process steel safely and efficiently

· Perform quality inspections to ensure material meets customer and production specifications

· Assist with machine setup, including setting heads and adjusting for size and material requirements

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area

· Work closely with team members to meet production goals

· Perform general labor and other duties as assigned

Experience & Training

· Steel or manufacturing experience preferred but not required

· On-the-job training provided

Qualifications

· Ability to accurately read a tape measure

· Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical labor for extended periods

· Basic math and reading skills

· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
