ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating hydraulic, lattice, or tower cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and structural components across the jobsite. This role requires strict adherence to safety standards, precise equipment control, and effective communication with rigging crews and site leadership to support efficient and successful project execution.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

- Calculate load weights and verify them against rated lifting capacities to ensure safe, non-overloaded lifts.

- Operate cranes, cherry pickers, and other lifting equipment to safely lift, move, and place materials.

- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on crane components, including cables and mechanisms.

- Inspect cranes, rigging, and lifting accessories to identify and prevent malfunctions or damage.

- Direct and coordinate helpers during setup of blocking, outriggers, and lift preparation.

- Support critical lifts, crane moves, signaling, and other operational needs as required.

- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

- Perform additional duties as assigned based on project needs.

YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

- Valid NCCCO certification applicable to the specific type of crane operated

- Current DOT medical card

- Minimum 3 years of crane operating experience

- Minimum 2 years of experience working with concrete as a carpenter or crane operator

- Minimum 2 years of experience working with structural steel as a carpenter or crane operator

- Strong experience completing daily inspections, lift plans, and critical lift plans

- Proven reliability with solid technical skills, attendance, and work ethic

- The ability to read and interpret load charts

- Sharp situational awareness and the ability to monitor gauges and equipment performance

- Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and clear communication on the jobsite

- Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, reaction time, and precise equipment control
