Gartland Foundry was established in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1902 and has been proudly serving a wide range of industries for over a century. Our iron castings are used across the United States and internationally in a variety of end-use environments.

The two positions we hire most frequently are General Laborers and Finish Grinders.
These are hands-on roles working with iron castings in various stages of production and finishing.
General Laborers: Perform a variety of production activities involved in the creation of iron castings.
Finish Grinders: Use grinders and hand tools to remove excess material and finish iron castings to meet quality standards.
No previous foundry experience is required, just a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety. Training is provided for all positions.
- Day Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Night Shift: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM
(Overtime may be available on a mandatory or volunteer basis)
- Lift, carry, and transfer material and product from floor or shaker line, pallets, work stations, or staging areas
- Count and verify the material or product on the pallet
- Lift and carry castings to parts containers or work table
- Maintain a good attendance record
- Keep work area clean and perform housekeeping duties
- Inspect own work for visual defects
- Record data as required on all internal documents
- Comply with Company safety policies and procedures
- Perform set-ups, attend to minor breakdowns and report other equipment conditions as necessary
- Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Team-oriented with reliable attendance
- Ability to lift and handle materials safely
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment check
Must be able to use the following machines, tools, equipment, and/or work aids:
- Power tools
- Forklifts
- Cranes
- End loader
- Electric/Manual conveyors
- Cutting torch
