- Manage all Fleet Engineering projects across our organization
- Manage/Coach/Mentor Fleet Project Engineer to potentially be your successor
- Provide engineering & technical support for transport equipment as it relates to design, modifications and repairs.
- Provide engineering & technical support for development of standards & procedures as it relates to the maintenance and operation of transport equipment by technicians, drivers, & outside suppliers/vendors.
- Provide technical & engineering support to external and internal repair/maintenance shops
- Support & develop training requirements for Messer personnel on transport equipment
- Provide engineering support for code repair program at internal Messer rehab shop(s)
- Audit fleet vendors for quality standards & performance
- Act as Messer representative on related industry organization sub-committees, i.e. CGA, AAR, ASME
- Provide emergency response support 24/7 for Messer transport operations
- Participate as an active member of the Region Americas team, providing innovation, best practice, and working collaboratively to support world class achievement across the Region.
- Advanced knowledge of transportation equipment, & on/off loading systems
- Experience in coordinating multiple projects associated with process improvement programs and fleet wide equipment upgrades
- Ability to gather, analyze & report data in order to develop improvement strategies
- Ability to decipher forensic evidence to determine component failure.
- Working knowledge of six sigma and lean (green belt certification)
- Ability to remain current on transport regulations
- Ability to gather, analyze & report data in order to develop improvement strategies
- Time management skills to be able to manage multiple projects
- Experience with US DOT and Transport Canada regulations including those specific to industrial gas & railroad transportation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, CAD/Three Dimensional Drawings, SAP
- Superior organizational skills- 10+ years industry experience in engineering with 5 years minimum in a leadership role
- Professional Engineer License preferred
- Cryogenic equipment knowledge preferred
