The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the logistical coordination and operational readiness of the company's utility vehicle fleet. This role ensures that vehicles are appropriately assigned, accurately tracked, properly documented, and in compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards. While not directly supervising drivers or managing maintenance schedules, the Fleet Supervisor collaborates closely with the operations, maintenance, and safety teams to facilitate efficient field operations.
- Coordinate vehicle assignments and availability across departments and projects to support field operations.
- Monitor fleet utilization, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle status using fleet management software.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle registrations, titles, insurance, inspections, and compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to report vehicle issues, monitor downtime, and support repair prioritization.
- Prepare and present reports on fleet performance metrics such as utilization rates, cost tracking, and compliance status.
- Conduct regular audits of fleet documentation and equipment to ensure accuracy and safety compliance.
- Support procurement by tracking vehicle needs, usage trends, and future asset planning.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, fleet operations, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet coordination, logistics, or vehicle compliance (preferably with utility or service vehicles).
- Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, OSHA standards, and commercial vehicle requirements.
- Proficient in fleet tracking and reporting software; strong Microsoft Excel and data management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus but not required.
- Primarily office-based, with regular visits to vehicle yards, service areas, and field locations.
- May require physical inspection of vehicles, entering/exiting trucks, and lifting of light equipment (up to 30–50 lbs).
