Position Overview:
We are looking for a Fleet Manager to lead the maintenance and repair operations of our vehicle fleet of over 75 vehicles. This role requires organization skills as well as some hands-on mechanical work. Example duties include management of vehicle maintenance and repairs (including vehicle management software), completing routine maintenance, vendor negotiations and vehicle procurement. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, highly organized, and capable of managing both day-to-day repairs and long-term fleet planning.
Key Responsibilities:
•Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs: Perform and oversee maintenance and repairs on light-duty vehicles. Coordinate service schedules and ensure all vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.
•Fleet Oversight: Support the management of a mixed fleet of approximately 75 gas and diesel vehicles, including light and heavy-duty trucks.
•Procurement & Vendor Relations: Assist in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing vehicles, parts, repairs, and supplies. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
•Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all vehicles meet regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate service records and inspection logs.
•Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to urgent repair needs to minimize vehicle downtime.
•Team Collaboration: Work closely with drivers, operations staff, and leadership to ensure fleet readiness and performance.
Qualifications:
•Proven experience as a fleet mechanic or technician, with leadership or management experience preferred.
•Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures (and software thereof).
•Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards.
•Experience with procurement or vendor negotiations is a plus.
•Proficiency in vehicle maintenance & GPS software, basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
