strategy, we are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of  Fire Protection Senior Designer

based in Edmonton, AB .

Role Description

·        Design automatic fire sprinkler systems in accordance with current building codes and NFPA standards.

·        Prepare general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD and HydraCAD/AutoSPRINK software.

·        Perform hydraulic calculations using HydraCAD or AutoSPRINK software to determine sprinkler head selection, piping sizes, and fire pump sizing.

·        Conduct fire protection system assessments using AFT Fathom or similar hydraulic analysis software.

·        Coordinate fire protection piping layouts with other disciplines, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural.

·        Prepare material orders and fabrication documents based on fire protection design drawings.

·        Review fire protection designs prepared by others to ensure compliance, safety, efficiency, and practicality.

·        Participate in project meetings with project managers and other trades to support project coordination and execution.

Qualifications

·        University or college degree, or high school diploma with relevant experience.

·        2–5+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection design.

·        Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, Building Codes, and FM Global guidelines.

·        Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.

·        Experience using HydraCAD, AutoSprink, or equivalent fire sprinkler design software.

·        Experience using AFT Fathom or equivalent hydraulic analysis tools.

·        Experience with 3D drafting and BIM is considered an asset.

·        Familiarity with project management software such as Procore

is considered an asset.

·        Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

·        Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
