Position Summary
A Fire Restoration Mover is responsible for the careful packing, inventorying, transportation, and storage of personal and commercial property affected by fire, smoke, or water damage. This role supports restoration efforts by ensuring contents are handled safely, documented accurately, and returned in pre-loss condition when possible.
- Pack, wrap, and protect contents from fire-damaged properties
- Create detailed inventories of all items removed from the site
- Safely load and unload items for transport to storage or cleaning facilities
- Label and track contents to maintain organization and chain of custody
- Assist with on-site manipulation (moving items within the property for restoration work)
- Transport items to and from warehouses, storage units, or restoration facilities
- Unpack and reset contents once restoration is complete
- Dispose of non-salvageable items according to company procedures and with proper authorization
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, equipment, and workspaces
- Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE when working in hazardous environments
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and occasionally clients
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous moving, warehouse, or restoration experience is a plus
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license (if driving company vehicles)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in environments affected by fire, smoke, and water damage
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency response situations
- Careful handling of fragile and valuable items
