We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our team and provide the financial insight and management needed to support our continued success.
The Financial Controller will oversee aspects of accounting and financial management across our group of businesses, working directly with and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, implementing strong internal controls, and providing strategic insights. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions for multiple businesses within Heglar Creek.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific financial regulations.
- Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial insights for decision-making.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 2+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in agriculture, construction, or multi-entity businesses.- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse industries.
