Corporate Controller

Are you a strategic, hands-on financial leader passionate about mentoring a team? HDSI is seeking a Corporate Controller to direct our corporate accounting functions while leading a dedicated team of junior accountants.

In this dual-focus role, you will be the crucial link between our corporate financial executive management and the detailed execution of accounting operations across our entire group of companies. You will have the opportunity to develop and empower an accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure the precise and timely delivery of financial services for a diverse portfolio of affiliated clients.

Due to the collaborative/mentoring nature of this position, a minimum of 3 days per week in-office

is required.

What you'll do:

- Lead & Mentor:

Actively train, develop, and guide junior accounting professionals, building a resilient and highly skilled financial team for the future.

- Oversee Financial Operations:

Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures for HDSI to ensure regulatory compliance and safeguard company assets.

- Manage Multi-Entity Accounting:

Direct and review the full accounting cycle for multiple affiliated companies, expertly managing complex inter-company transactions and ensuring accurate consolidated reporting.

- Drive Process Improvement:

Proactively identify and implement best practices and system enhancements to streamline accounting workflows, reduce closing times, and enhance overall accuracy.

- Shape Internal Controls:

Opportunity to take the lead in designing, implementing, and testing internal controls.

What you'll bring:

- CPA Designation is required.

of progressive accounting experience.

- 3-5 years

of proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting professionals.

- Expert knowledge of

IFRS and/or US GAAP

, with strong experience in multi-entity consolidations and public company reporting.

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to build rapport and manage client expectations.

Nice-to-haves:

- 1-2 years at a Big Four accounting firm.

- Experience in a client-facing role at a professional services/consulting firm or in a BPO environment.

- Exposure to mining exploration and development companies.
