The company is seeking a FINAL INSPECTOR.
The candidate will perform detailed inspections on a wide variety of complex finished machined parts, highly complex components, tooling, and hardware that is produced in- house and/or supplied by vendors. The candidate ascertains product quality in accordance with prescribed company and customer requirements and specifications. The Final Inspector works with Quantum (ERP) and other computer applications for engineering record retention. Utilizes a variety of inspection instruments and gages to assist in comprehensive inspection. Reject non-conforming hardware and communicate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering. Approves parts and systems as acceptable, obtains customer approval where required. Completion and recording of all applicable paperwork to detailed customer requirements and specifications.
- Must have a minimum experience of 10 years as a dimensional (final) inspector of precision mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Must possess an excellent safety and attendance record.
- Must be familiar with and knowledgeable in various Quality Systems.
- Must be knowledgeable in GD&T
- Final and in-process dimensional inspection of parts, components, tooling, and hardware.
- Verification of materials and processes and verification of certifications from sub- tier vendors.
- Performance of various other quality functions as required to ensure the timely delivery to the customer.
- Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to ISO 9001:2015 + AS9100D/- Operates measuring and testing instruments at a high level of competency, including Zeiss CMM (Calypso Software), Micro-Vu, Keyence and Vision
Inspection Systems: Micro-Vu / Zeiss / Starrett.
- Ensure that all required process operations have been performed on the product that is being inspected.
- Documenting inspection results, accurate and complete, by completing forms, logs, and reports. Enters all quality data into the appropriate electronic or manual systems.
- Adheres to all company safety procedures, maintains a clean work area and proper handles tools, equipment, and stock to prevent damage or loss.
- Related work including calibration of inspection resources, and development and enforcement of quality systems procedures necessary to satisfy standards (AS, FAA), military, and customer specifications.
- Regular attendance is a requirement that is key to performing the job.
- Must be proficient with complicated blueprints, work instructions & specifications and advanced job shop mathematical calculations.
- Familiar with all facets of inspection techniques, including a wide range of inspection and measuring resources, and surface plate set-ups.
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing systems and processes.
- Familiarity with an AS9100 based quality system.
- Basic computer skills. Working knowledge of Quantum (ERP) preferred.
- Prior inspection experience on military/aerospace hardware.
- Self-directed, with ability to report and communicate clearly.
