Custom Fabricators & Repairs, Inc is a well-respected miscellaneous metals & structural steel fabricator who has been in business for over three decades. Quality & service are the core principles of our company, and we prioritize excellent relationships with our clients. We are the only AISC certificated structural steel fabricator in Bryan, TX. We provide structural & misc steel, as well misc material sales (steel, aluminum, stainless steel), misc repairs, custom work, and job shop services. We service clients in the commercial retail/residential/office, educational, pharmaceutical, food service, manufacturing industries and more.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Knowledge of the different types of metals as well as structural steel is a plus. Experience with structural steel projects helpful. Hands-on working knowledge STRUMIS is a definite plus. Must have strong communication skills, analysis and critical thinking skills and the ability to meet deadlines as well as be extremely organized and ability to multitask. This individual must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, focused as well as possess strong leadership qualities.
Job Summary: Quality Control Inspector (QCI) will perform regular product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process. To excel in this role, applicants should demonstrate great attention to detail with excellent technical and math abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily if not above expectations. · Do inspections if necessary for nonconforming receipt inspection.
· Inspect Welds for conformity to codes such as D1.1
· Inspect grade, shape and thickness of incoming material.
· Assure specifications of bolts are in accordance with purchase order.
· Review incoming consumables and paint are in proper conditions.
· Confirm proper gages are used to measure weld sizes.
· Guarantee calibrated tools are used during inspection..
· Inspect work in progress and finished work for discrepancies in accordance with the Quality Control Plan and contract requirements.
· Evaluating the final output of products to determine their quality.
· Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
· Verify that the purchased raw material or products from suppliers meet the specifications.
· Inspect final output to guarantee that requirements are achieved, approving the right products and rejecting defective ones.
· Meets the qualification requirements of training and experience in accordance with AWS D1.1 - Section 6.1.4 (3).
· Training and experience meeting requirements of ANSI/AISC 360-16 Chapter N.4.1 to perform final inspections for all processes typical for the company.
· QCI minimum qualification includes experience and knowledge of acceptance criteria for welding, high strength bolting, and erection tolerances.
· Prior experience as a quality control inspector in a production processing environment
· Familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes
· Strong regard for quality assurance according to company standards
· Good knowledge about industry products and processes
· In-depth knowledge of market trends and conditions
