Field Welder/Fabricator

Colonial Welding LLC is looking for a Field Welder/Fabricator to join our team in Norfolk, VA.

Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious field welders, with an excellent work ethic to join our team. As field personnel, you will be responsible for performing various welding tasks on job sites, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with project specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and/or Flux-Core welding on structural steel, piping, and/or equipment components

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures

- Measure, cut, and fit metal components to specifications

- Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed welds

- Operate welding tools and equipment in field conditions

- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations

- Collaborate with crew members and site supervisors to meet project deadlines

- Travel to various job sites as required

Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED

- 2+ years of field welding experience preferred

- Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding

- Ability to pass welding tests (ASME/API/AWS certifications a plus)

- Valid driver’s license, with good driving history and reliable transportation

- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in variable weather conditions

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours if needed

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certified Welder (AWS, ASME, API)

- Experience with pipe welding, structural fabrication, or industrial field work

- Basic rigging and layout skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
