The Field Superintendent is responsible overseeing multiple field operations and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and client expectations. This role provides direct supervision to field crews and coordinates resources, schedules, and daily activities to meet operational goals. This position is responsible for the day-to-day relationship with the company’s customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Supervise and support daily operations in the field, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
•Coordinate with supervisors, rig operators, and clients to schedule work and allocate resources effectively.
•Monitor job performance and conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
•Lead safety meetings and enforce adherence to safety standards and protocols.
•Troubleshoot operational issues and provide guidance and solutions to field teams.
•Train and mentor field personnel, supporting development and performance improvement.
•Maintain accurate and timely reporting of field activity, including job progress, incidents, and personnel hours.
•Communicate regularly with management regarding job status, manpower needs, and equipment requirements.
•Help support, measure, and monitor all company quality and performance programs.
•Help in the resolution of disputes or problems between customers and the company.
•Look for new business / market opportunities.
•Aid in the recruitment of crew hands.
•Report all unplanned events and create/assist HSE personnel in the investigation and documentation of these events.
•Manage all assigned equipment maintenance and communication requirements to Area Operations Manager and Equipment Maintenance Supervision.
•Communicate job and scheduling status with Account (Sales) Manager.
•Communicate any health, safety, or environmental concerns to Area HSE personnel.
•Ensure strict adherence to all company Safety and Operating Policies with company personnel, if applicable, customer approved sub-contractor personnel.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
•Minimum 5 years of experience in oilfield or industrial field operations, including supervisory experience.
•Strong understanding of industry safety standards and regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
•Ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
•Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
•Proficient with basic computer programs and field reporting tools.
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, vendors and other employees.
•Work may be performed in all weather conditions.
•Mobility, including entering confined spaces, enter areas by the use of ladders or other access devices; ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand, squat, crawl and walk
•Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum.
•Ability to interact with others in a team environment.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
•Reliable telephone (cell phone) communication and transportation.
•Clearance of pre-employment drug/alcohol and job-relevant screens.
