JOB SUMMARY
This person will be responsible for set-up, lay-out, and tack up of various detailed, precision frame weldments and brackets. He/she must have the ability to tack up structures to tight tolerances and to weld out precision frames to exact tolerances. He/she must also perform the final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sanders. The fabricator may use ten/thirty ton cranes in a safe manner and “rigging” knowledge is necessary. He/she will read complicated prints and “spec. weld symbols” in conjunction with required job details. The fabricator will primarily work with mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Responsible for set-up, lay-out, and tack up of various precision frame weldments and brackets
•Squaring up, weld, and maintain various geometries of components
•Reading various weld form symbols on blueprints and understand size of fillet forms
•Welding both vertical and horizontal plane geometry
•Moving parts and heavy frames on and off a work table and throughout the facility
•Understanding various edge preps before welding
•Good understanding of set-up techniques
•Meeting agreed upon goals in a timely manner
•Assuring jobs are performed in proper sequence and at the appropriate time
•Assuring the end product is produced correctly and according to assembly blueprints
•Additional items as assigned by manager
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
•Demonstrated ability to set up, lay-out, and tack up various detailed frame weldments and brackets
•Ability to read assembly blueprints, follow instructions, and achieve Blueprint Certification
•Demonstrated ability to fabricate mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
•Must own tools for daily tasks
•Demonstrated attention to detail and precision in work
•Ability to break down tasks to complete in a step-by-step process
•Ability to show creativity in solving problems
•Self-motivated; able to work with little supervision
•Customer- focused with quality and end result in mind
•Must be able to communicate effectively and work effectively as part of a team, specifically with the Engineering Organization

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
•High School Diploma or GED
•5+ years fabrication experience in the metal manufacturing industry preferred
•Must meet criteria of Welder I
