The Estimator is responsible for estimating work as scheduled by Senior and Lead Estimators for bid. This position prepares cost estimates for electrical projects, supports contract proposal development, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Prepare cost estimates for electrical projects from design conception through basic design
- Bid projects with sufficient detail to produce accurate budgets and purchase orders
- Determine scope of work and review design options
- Communicate with clients, vendors, engineers, architects, building officials, owners, contractors, and subcontractors
- Assist in preparing portions of contract proposal estimates
- Work with the estimating team regarding bid document requirements
- Price field change orders as needed
- Attend staff and scheduled business meetings and support team needs as required
- Ability to perform all essential job functions successfully

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / Office 365
- Ability to read plans and specifications
- Experience with Accubid Anywhere/Classic or similar estimating software
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, trade school education, or equivalent experience (preferred but not required)
- Electrical field construction experience
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Regularly ascend or descend stairs or ramps when other means of movement are not available
- Ability to travel to job site locations
- Ability to work in extreme weather and temperature conditions
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform physical activities including standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, reaching, lifting, balancing, carrying, pushing, and pulling as required for light office and field duties
