Established in 1974, we are an internationally renowned custom steel fabrication and steel bending company. We serve the energy, resources, primary metals, marine, construction, transportation, green energy, and environmental industries.

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Estimator to be added to our team. We are looking for an individual who possesses a post-secondary education or related industry experience, who is a self-starter with the ability to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Utilize your developed skills in identifying customer needs.

- Provide exceptional service to our customers with appropriate solutions.

- Handle multiple quotations and customer inquiries during a typical business day.

- Review and analyze contract documents, customer specifications and technical drawings.

- Prepare estimates and proposals including material, subcontract and labour costs.

- Organize and initiate projects from start to finish.

- Participate in project award turnover meetings.

- Ensure budget and overall scope is defined to the project management team outlining risks.

- Act as the liaison between the customer and our production personnel.

- Proficiency in using industry-standard estimating software

- Attend and participate in customer site visits.

Requirements:

- Technologist, Trade or industry related experience.

- Minimum of 5 years related experience.

- Previous experience in custom steel fabrication is a requirement in this position.

- Able to read and interpret fabrication and machining blueprints.

- Experience analyzing blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

- Self-starter possessing the technical skills required to be able to work independently.

- Highly developed positive customer service skills experience would be an asset.

- Ability to work in a team environment interacting with production personnel and project management staff.

- Excellent verbal and written skills with ability to communicate technical and non-technical information.

- Professional, organized and detail oriented.

- Excellent computer skills MS products.

- Auto-Cad experience an asset.

- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.

- Experience in custom machining is considered an asset.

Education

- Post Secondary education, or relevant trade experience

- Custom Machining or Fabrication Diploma or Certificate

- CET considered an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
