Job Title: Environmental Regulatory Coordinator

Reporting to the Environmental Regulatory Manager or their designate, the Environmental Regulatory Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the regulatory strategy for the Eskay Creek Mine Revitalization Project. In this role, you will work collaboratively across departments and with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the advancement of the Project.

The Environmental Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for coordinating regulatory processes to secure the necessary approvals, including those from the Tahltan Central Government. Working closely with the Sustainability team, this position focuses on building strong relationships and supporting the permitting process, including aspects related to the Consent Agreement with the Tahltan Central Government.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Regulatory Support

•

Collaborate with internal and external teams to help prepare and obtain necessary permits and approvals with practical and achievable outcomes.

•

Support the implementation of regulatory approvals by working alongside operations and project teams and providing guidance to other departments.

•

Schedule, track, and help deliver regulatory approvals in line with the project’s timeline and budget.

Environmental Oversight

•

Support the implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to help track and demonstrate that the project is meeting its environmental and regulatory commitments.

•

Contribute to internal efforts that promote awareness and understanding of environmental responsibilities across the team.

Community & Indigenous Engagement

•

Work with the Community Relations team to provide support on environmental topics related to community engagement activities.

•

Help promote Tahltan management and governance in relation to environmental matters.

Project Coordination & Team Collaboration

•

Support the development and implementation of various project controls to keep the team on schedule and budget.

•

Maintain accountability with both internal and external team members to help ensure key deliverables are met.

•

Support a collaborative and performance-focused team culture.

Other

•

Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

•

Minimum of a bachelor's degree or diploma in a field related to regulatory approvals and/or relevant environmental discipline.

Experience / Skills

•

Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical studies, regulatory affairs, or a related field.

•

Experience in mining or comparable projects is an asset.

•

Solid understanding of the BC and federal regulatory processes, technical environmental studies as relevant to mining project development is preferred.

•

Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality deliverables on schedule.

•

Strong organization skills, managing, tracking, and recording multiple tasks and a heavy workload.

•

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to support communication of permitting requirements across the organization.

•

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

•

Motivated and willing to take ownership of tasks including a high Resiliency Quotient.

•

Energetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processes.

•

Available for business travel as required by the company.

•

Detail oriented with excessive attention to detail.

•

Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.

•

Effective team player who can jump in wherever is needed.

•

Work Location & Conditions

This is an office-based job, in Skeena’s Corporate office located in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Monday to Friday schedule. Additionally, the job is in a fast paced, and at times stressful working environment, with having to manage multiple competing priorities. Some flexibility in work location may be considered.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is CA$65,000 - CA$85,000, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
