Williams Operating Corporation - Barrick Gold located near Marathon in Northwestern Ontario presently requires a: Environmental Coordinator (12 Month Fixed Term) Position Description
The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the Hemlo Mine environmental compliance programs and environmental management systems to meet performance requirements. The Environmental Coordinator responsibility is the ongoing identification, assessment, prioritization, and management of environmental risks, including legislative requirements, through the development, implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of a cost effective and efficient environmental management system.
General responsibilities include administration of all programs and plans that may have an impact on the natural environment, such as wastewater management, surface and ground water quality monitoring programs, oversite of waste management (hazardous and non-hazardous), providing direction regarding hazardous product management, air emissions management, and closure/reclamation plan administration.

About The Team
Hemlo has produced more than 21 million ounces of gold and has been operating continuously for more than 30 years. It consists of the Williams mine operation, including an underground mine, and 4mtpa gold processing facility. Hemlo is located about 350 kilometers east of Thunder Bay, Ontario on Highway 17. Situated nearby the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior, Hemlo works closely with our Indigenous communities of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg and the townships of Marathon, Manitouwadge and White River.
