Engineering Technologist/Technician

Job description

- Prepare engineering designs related to hydro and telecom projects.

- Create CAD drawings from concept stage to final design using AutoCAD

- Field visit to collect measurements and perform site inspection

- Perform pole loading analysis using SPIDACalc and QuickPole software, cable pull calculations

- Prepare project related estimates , material takeoff, project scheduling and construction packages

- Liaise with clients and design staff

- Performs other design and project related duties as required

Job Requirements:

- Minimum two years of experience in design projects

- Must be proficient using AutoCAD, Experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and Menu's

- Experience with underground and overhead hydro design projects

- Good understanding of related industry standards such as CSA 22.3 and ESA code

- Self-motivated, excellent verbal, written and communication skills, ability to learn new skills

- Engineering degree or college diploma in electrical or civil program

- Must be Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or in the process of certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
