081-TFS T-Line Technical Services


Engineer – Engineer Sr

Please note this position is posted in a range and level will be determined by education and experience

This position serves to apply engineering and technical skillsets to assist the T-Line areas in developing and prioritizing capital rehab work plans. This also includes performing structure condition evaluations, evaluating circuit performance, determining potential solutions, and obtaining capital funding.

Asset Engineers are also responsible for developing yearly asset inspection and maintenance plans and maintaining asset conditions, compliance reporting, and key progress metrics.

Some other core responsibilities include, but not limited to developing line maintenance standards, managing annual Preventative Maintenance planning process, and oversee the deployment of t-line asset data programs. The Asset Engineer conducts analysis and identifies corrective actions to address line performance issues, evaluate and sponsor requests for line relocations and other capital projects, manages emergency transmission line stock, prepares utility commission reports, monitors industry advancements and participates in research efforts, participates in and influences activities pertaining to industry codes and standards, and assists in major storm restoration as needed in accordance with the ICS process.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS and TASKS:


Technical Expertise

- Possesses journey level knowledge of Transmission Lines and perform varied assignments with proficiency in the application of theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analysis.

- Exhibits ability to understand interrelationship between transmission lines and all associated components.

- Demonstrate ability to analyze and recommend enhancements to business processes.

- Keeps abreast of new products, developments, technologies, procedures and equipment.

- Perform other duties as assigned.


Leadership & Guidance

- Coordinates with others within the work group, department, or other corporate entity as necessary to complete routine activities.

- Performs routine engineering activity with minimum direction from higher-level employees.

- Ensures all work activities are performed in accordance with the policies, practices, standards and rules of the company and complies with the regulations and procedures required by external agencies.

- Promotes engineering professionalism and standards.

- Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees.

- Participates in the development of plans by establishing measurable goals, objectives and requirements for specific areas of responsibility.

- Coordinates the development of input necessary to develop scopes and preliminary estimates for Transmission projects, and improvements requisitions.

- Initiates corrective action when project objectives are not being met.

- Documents ongoing tasks and assignments and maintains consistent communication with team members.

REQUIREMENTS – BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Has typically acquired 6 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET; or 4 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET; Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred.

- ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.

Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.


REQUIREMENTS – OTHER:


1) Demonstrated leadership ability in previous assignments

2) A thorough knowledge of the transmission system, from a design and operations perspective is preferred.

3) Proficient with MS Office Tools and MS SharePoint.

3) Some travel required, must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.


Compensation Range: $85,081-$115,000 annually
