- Serve as primary point of contact for energy efficiency programs to the Cooperative’s residential and business members.
- Knowledgeable regarding rates, metering, processes, contracts, and billing procedures for accounts and be prepared to answer inquiries in a timely manner while exercising sound judgment.
- Investigate billing, meter reading discrepancies, and collaborate with others to resolve issues or identify opportunities regarding energy efficiency.
- Prepare energy consumption comparisons for perspective energy efficiency programs members.
- Work with federal, state, and local authorities to bring available grants or other programs to members.
- Work with local organizations and schools providing educational materials and presentation on energy efficiency
- Communicate with members regarding Demand Response Initiatives, the Beat the Peak program or other strategic energy efficiency initiatives of the Cooperative.
- Make recommendations to members and the Cooperative regarding battery storage, programmable thermostats, electric vehicle charging stations, and other value-added services for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy-diversified programs.
- Work with the Energy Programs Coordinator to understand the Net Metering process and reporting.
- Assist Member Services Representatives (MSRs) with high bill complaints.
- Understanding of Energy Efficiency initiatives and legislation to make recommendations towards Cooperative directions.
- Represent the Cooperative’s interest in discussions regarding energy efficiency programs regulations and legislation with statewide or other entities, as necessary.
- Make recommendations regarding new rate designs (time of use, capacity billing, etc.).
- Prepare literature for potential energy efficiency programs.
- Assist with planning and marketing of any Cooperative energy efficiency programs.
- Bring a team approach to resolving account issues and concerns.
- Associate/Technical degree in a related field or related experience and/or training equivalent.
- Training in data entry and computer operations including PC applications.
- A thorough knowledge of energy efficiency programs and energy diversified programs.
- Must be able to maintain professionalism and control under all circumstances.
- Has and maintains a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and is able to operate SVEC vehicles.
- Must become and remain certified in CPR and first aid. Must also be skilled in the use of safety equipment.
- Ability to handle the challenge of operating efficiently under a very flexible schedule due to the number of unanticipated and unplanned requests for services from the various individuals, departments and outside contacts with whom this position is involved.

- Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
- Participation in SVEC job safety and training programs, relevant workshops, seminars and other SVEC sponsored courses and events.
- Must be able to use office equipment including telephone, computer, and other systems and related software in the performance of position responsibilities.
- Must be able and available, during any and all types of weather conditions, to work weekends, holidays, evenings and other times outside normal duty hours to assist in service restoration and other emergencies that may arise or when the workload demands.
- Must always maintain an operating telephone or personal communication device for the purpose of contacting the employee to conduct legitimate routine and/or emergency business.
- This position involves primarily inside work. Must be able to lift objects unassisted (up to 30 pounds). Some standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to a minimal degree.
