Emergency Response & Billing Specialist

Holland Power Services Inc., a subsidiary of Alectra Inc., is a leading power line restoration company in North America with operations in New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, and New England. We specialize in emergency power restoration, working closely with utility contractors to ensure swift and efficient recovery during storm events.

We are currently seeking an Emergency Response & Billing Specialist to join our high-performance team. Reporting to the Director of Storm Administration, the successful candidate is essential to the coordination and financial tracking of crew deployments during storm events. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday, however, due to the nature of the role, the candidate must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in response to storm events.

Key Responsibilities:

- Emergency Response Coordination: Assist with organizing and mobilizing power restoration crews during large-scale outages, ensuring timely and efficient deployment.

- Roster Development: Create and maintain detailed crew rosters for internal use and for utility clients, ensuring accuracy and real-time updates.

- Field Reporting Oversight: Ensure timesheets and daily reports from field personnel are submitted accurately and on time.

- Billing & Financial Analysis: Compile large volumes of operational data to generate billing invoices aligned with contract terms and rates.

- Contract Compliance: Interpret and apply contract details to ensure billing accuracy and adherence to client agreements.

- Data Management & Reporting: Perform financial analysis and comparisons to support decision-making and operational efficiency.

- Process Improvement: Lead or support process optimization initiatives during non-storm periods to enhance future deployments.

Qualifications:

- 5 to 7 years experience in billing, finance, contract administration, or project coordination; experience in the utility, construction, or emergency response sector is considered a strong asset.

- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, Contract Management, Accounting, or related field. In lieu of post-secondary educaiton, 7+ years of directly related experience may be considered.

- Proven experience in high-pressure, fast-paced environments—preferably in emergency response, utilities, or construction.

- Strong financial acumen, able to audit and manage high-value invoices.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

- Familiarity with contract terms and billing practices.

- Availability for flexible, on-call hours during storm deployments.
