Position Title: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Green River, WY
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate Safety as the number one priority by addressing unsafe conditions promptly and proactively.
- Drive and maintain compliance with the Hazard Recognition Process (HRP) and SORRY in their organization.
- Ensure safe plant operation and product quality.
- Foster crew participation and ownership of results.
- Take accountability for team's performance and metrics through short interval measures.
- Engage crew members to instill a sense of urgency and consistently manage performance.
- Confront and manage conflict directly and effectively.
- Understand individual team members’ strengths and needs and proactively seek coaching opportunities to develop the team.
- Develop the team’s problem-solving capabilities and facilitate team problem-solving activities.
- Ensure close communications and coordination of team activities with other site functions and departments.
- Create/foster a positive work environment.
- Coordinate with production on all shifts to ensure the equipment is properly inspected and tested after repairs are completed.
- Facilitate incident/accident investigations and ensure environmental compliance.
- Manage workload, allocation of resources, and the use of overtime.
- Manage and drive to minimize emergency work.
- Eliminate barriers for employees to execute work safely and efficiently.
- Ensure tasks are understood, supervised, and accomplished to a high standard.
- Compile and implement crew safety action plan.
- Provide performance development for employees including feedback, cross training, mentorship, coaching, discipline/corrective action (attendance, behavior, etc.).
- Coordinate training and development activities for employees.
- Responsible for ensuring employees follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and identify best practices and work to make them SOP’s.
- Responsible for facilitating effective communication with all applicable parties to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Communicate reasons for success when maintenance targets are achieved and provide solutions when there are performance deviations.
- Coordinate with production regarding equipment availability.
- Monitor equipment and develop preventative maintenance (PM) plans.
- Oversee maintenance efficiency / costs while also identifying areas for cost savings or improvement projects.
- Manage through the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) including the vacation schedule and call out processes for overtime and absenteeism.
- Monitors and maintains training files and records for the applicable area of responsibility.
- Leverage site resources to drive culture change, continuous improvement and site wide maintenance excellence.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs while safely meeting production targets
- Foster open communication and engage team members to maximize performance
- Report on performance objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) within maintenance.
- Answer grievances and perform administrative tasks including but not limited to, timecards, overtime, vacation approvals, and occurrences.
- Participate in shift hand-off meetings.
- Work maintenance weekend duty when applicable.
- Provide relief for Maintenance Supervisors during times of absence both planned and unplanned.
- If serving as a Relief Supervisor and no crew coverage is required, position may be asked to assist with:
o Auditing Work Place Exam (WPE) logbooks and areas to ensure compliance to WPE standards
o Participate and engage in safety meetings
o Participate in Safety Job Observations audits
o Audit PMs to ensure they are completed correctly and thoroughly across the organization
o Participate in outage planning meetings to drive compliance of the outage optimization process
- Partner with the Human Resources department on labor relations, including contract administration
- Support ISO 9000 efforts.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) from and accredited educational institution and 3 years of plant maintenance and/or production experience OR
- B.S. in Engineering or related scientific field from an accredited four-year college or university and one year of plant maintenance and/or production experience.
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated capability with M.S. Office including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
This position falls under the Department of Transportation (DOT) testing program.
