EDM Programmer/Machinist

Summary of Job Activities/Responsibilities:

Follow current work instructions. Construct new and or repair tooling and special purpose equipment to exacting requirements including but not limited to: extrusion dies, finishing dies, grippers, rolls, funnels, shears and any other secondary tooling as required. Select material, plan, and layout and perform work. Design required parts on AutoCAD and EDM programming software. Work from drawings and specifications when fabricating parts. Install replacement parts include shafts, bearing bushings, and arms. Assist in measuring, balancing and alignments. Select appropriate material for jobs. Make decisions based on craft knowledge and experience.

Create Drawings for quoting purposes in AutoCad 2012, Solidworks or newer based on instructions from Die Room Manager if needed.

Responsible for maintenance of machines, including but not limited to lubrication and adjustment and repairs of equipment per manufacturer’s manual.

Complete all necessary paperwork on activities.

Conduct general housekeeping to ensure cleanliness of area.

Skills, knowledge, and/or abilities needed to perform the job:

· AutoCAD 2012 or newer and Solidworks.

· Complete knowledge of standard drafting techniques.

· Wire EDM programming experience with Fanuc Robocut CAMi a must.

· Experience running Robofil 290 Charmilles an Fanuc Robocut c400ib wire edms

· Ability to read and understand work rules, orders, instructions, and all safety requirements.

· Math skills including addition, subtraction, averaging, percentages and proportions.

· Read prints, drawings, and schematics.

· Ability to make parts from samples and or prints.

· Knowledge of mechanical operations, and alignment principles.

· Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

· Ability to operate necessary equipment and machinery including Wire EDM to perform a quality job.

· G-code programming experience

· Ability to work in team environment.

Pay: $34.00 - $35.00 per hour
