Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support laboratory operations by preparing samples, conducting tests, and assisting with data collection to ensure accurate and reliable results. - Prepare laboratory samples and materials according to established protocols, ensuring proper handling and safety compliance
- Operate precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Assist with operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment including CNC machines, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, surface grinders, and other machining tools
- Assist senior engineers and scientists in executing research projects related to oil and gas applications, including failure analysis and metallurgical investigations in small, close-kinit laboratory environment
- Collaborate with team to meet production goals and ensure smooth laboratory operations
- Conduct quality control inspections utilizing precision instruments like power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and tooling adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications
- Maintain accurate records of measurements, test results, and equipment calibration logs in compliance with quality standards
- Assist in in set up and preparation of laboratory experiments and tests
- Cut, grind, polish , and etch metallurgical samples for examination
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of senior staff.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (technical coursework is a plus)
- No prior laboratory experience required; however, familiarity with machining, and basic computer skills is a plus
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Willingness to learn new skills rapidly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and willingness to perform a variation of tasks
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, forklifts (certification provided), and other manufacturing equipment
- Skill with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a team player attitude
- Knowledge of manual and/or CNC machines, lathes, or mills, is beneficial but not mandatory
