Our Fort Hills Maintenance team is looking for an experienced dual ticketed candidate to join our team as a Machinist/Millwright.
- Valid Alberta Journeyperson Machinist and Millwright Certificates or Interprovincial Red Seal Certifications (Dual Ticket)
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a maintenance/manufacturing environment with proven field machining and equipment repair experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Exceptional safety focus
- Strong manual machining and CNC machining experience including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, boring mills, and line boring equipment
- Solid understanding of industrial equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in heavy industrial settings (mining, oil sands, petrochemical, pulp and paper, etc.)
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and applying precision tolerances
- Knowledge of hydraulics, bearings, seals, gearboxes, pumps, and shaft alignment procedures
- Experienced in field machining and heavy equipment maintenance in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment including valves, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, blowers, and mining/process equipment
- Perform precision machining and repairs using manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, radial arm drills, boring mills, and line boring equipment
- Conduct rotating equipment alignment, overhauls, and preventative maintenance to ensure asset integrity
- Assist other trades and production technicians as required, supporting a collaborative maintenance environment
- Participate in root cause analysis and post-failure reviews; recommend and implement solutions for improved reliability and performance
- Plan and execute jobs efficiently while minimizing downtime and maintaining safety and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and adhere to all preventative maintenance and quality assurance programs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and work quality
- You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometres north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
- The shift schedule Fly-In Fly-Out 7 on 7 off rotation, 12-hour shifts
- The successful candidate be able to fly our of our hubs of Edmonton or Calgary
- This position is safety sensitive
- This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
