CNC Machinist/Programmer

CDR General Services is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer in Slaughter, LA to join our growing team. This role involves full responsibility for programming, setup, and operation of CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, and horizontal boring mills. You’ll play a key part in ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality across a variety of machining jobs.

Location: Slaughter, LA Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Pay: $34 depending on experience

Responsibilities

- Program CNC machines using Fanuc G-code

- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and horizontal boring mills (Doosan & Haas)

- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to create accurate programs

- Ensure proper tooling, speeds, and feeds are selected for each job

- Maintain quality and traceability of all machined parts

- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools

- Set up and manage multiple jobs across machines when needed

- Conduct routine maintenance and keep machines running smoothly

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Follow all safety and quality standards consistently

Skills

- Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC machining and programming

- Proficiency in Fanuc G-code programming

- Ability to read blueprints and produce precision parts

- Strong knowledge of machining principles and setup practices

- Skilled in using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.)

- Capable of managing multiple setups and jobs concurrently

- Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude

Pay: From $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
