As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a talented Dispatch Manager to lead our central Dispatch Department and ensure operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Position Summary:
The Dispatch Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our central dispatch center, ensuring timely and efficient coordination of concrete deliveries across multiple locations. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong logistics, planning, and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a sunrise-to-sundown environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead, manage, and support a team of dispatchers and customer service representatives.
•Ensure all dispatch activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
•Monitor and adjust staffing levels to meet operational demands.
•Coordinate the timely scheduling and delivery of concrete in alignment with customer requirements.
•Maintain constant communication with plant managers, operations teams, and mixer drivers to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
•Track and monitor mixer truck statuses to manage delivery schedules and minimize delays.
•Communicate significant delays, trends, or issues to sales and operations teams proactively.
•Develop, assign, and manage dispatcher work schedules to optimize efficiency.
•Oversee dispatch software systems, ensuring all data, reports, and functionalities are current and accurate.
•Handle escalated customer issues promptly and professionally.
•Collaborate with Human Resources on the recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of dispatch personnel.
•Serve as a backup dispatcher or customer service representative as needed.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Previous experience in fast-paced, rapid-response dispatching (preferably in construction or ready mix concrete).
•Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
•Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
•Strong logistical planning and scheduling abilities.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•Proven track record of fostering a high-performance, customer-focused team environment.
•Proficiency with dispatch systems and MS Office Suite.
•Ability to identify operational trends and relay timely updates to appropriate departments.
