This position will be based on-site at Point of Rocks, MD, Peru, IL or Washington, MO location. And will follow a hybrid work model, with the expectation to be onsite at the location up to three (3) days per week, or as determined by your manager based on team and business needs. The remaining days may be worked remotely. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the location. Flexibility in the hybrid schedule may vary depending on departmental needs.
JOB SUMMARY:
Support the development and execution of CSC's logistics management strategy by collaborating with traffic teams across all plant locations. Ensure consistent, on-time final mile deliveries that meet budgetary goals, minimize risk, and maintain regulatory compliance. Play a key role in the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of logistics technologies, and support the corporate carrier management program to drive performance and cost efficiency across the network
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly outbound and inbound transportation plans for assigned plants using CSC's
•Transportation Management System (TMS), D365 transportation module, and Sales Estimation freight projection reports. Plans include specific carrier assignments, over-dimensional (O/D) permit requirements, and necessary accommodations.
•Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation layer for carriers regarding pickup, delivery, and service-related issues.
•Support the Carrier Management System to ensure consistent, on-time final mile deliveries that align with performance and cost objectives.
•Assist with logistics provider bid activities, contract administration, and ongoing contract management.
•Monitor CSC in-house transportation costs and analyze cost-benefit of in-house versus third-party logistics providers for key transportation lanes.
•Collaborate with Supply Chain and Finance Analysts to develop, maintain, and publish monthly logistics performance metrics and KPIs.
•Lead or support workstreams related to the maintenance and enhancement of the TMS and D365 transportation module.
•Maintain compliance with all relevant DOT and safety regulations, ensuring required documentation is in place for all drivers and fleet vehicles.
•Assist plant teams with acquiring special DOT permits, commercial invoices, and related compliance documentation.
•Special projects as assigned.
•Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
•ASCP Certification or Hazardous Material Certification a plus.
•3-5 years of transportation experience in numerous modes of shipping including trucking, barge (U.S. Inland Waterways, Great Lakes), ocean freight, rail transportation and the use of transloading facilities.
•Working knowledge of all modes of transportation contract, rate structures and insurance requirements.
•Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically with an integrated Transportation Management System (TMS), required.
•Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations, the national rail system, and inland water way system.
•Excellent analytical, computer, and Excel skills.
•Good listener with excellent negotiation skills.
•Effective oral and written communication skills.
•Ability to interact with all levels of the corporation.
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
