Job Title:
Director of Transactional Processes
Reports To:
Chief Financial Officer
Location:
Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Overview
At PSS Industrial Group, we’re looking for a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales Tax, and Credit, and a passion for building smarter, faster, and more accurate processes through technology and continuous improvement.
This role isn’t about supervising processes, it’s about owning them. You’ll be tasked with leading core transactional functions while modernizing them through automation, digital workflows, and optimization strategies. If you’re someone who can dig into ERP logic, rewire AP/AR flows, and turn tax complexity into reliable compliance, this is your kind of challenge.
Who You Are
You're a detail-driven financial leader with a solid foundation in AP, AR, tax compliance, and credit risk, and you know that success in these areas comes from more than just oversight. You’ve lived the process side:
•Led automation initiatives that took cycle times from days to hours
•Configured NACHA files and built out EDI integrations
•Translated regulatory requirements into smart, scalable tax processes
•Coached teams through change and watched efficiency go up while errors went down
You don’t just look at metrics - you use them to see around corners and drive action. You know how to turn throughput, match rates, and dispute resolution data into measurable business improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Optimization
•Lead high-performing teams across AP, AR, Credit, and Sales Tax with an eye toward consistency, accuracy, and speed
•Design and implement digital workflows that reduce manual intervention and increase throughput
•Identify inefficiencies and own the roadmap for process redesign, automation, and ERP optimization
•Systems & Automation Execution
•Own and enhance the ERP (Infor CloudSuite Distribution) setup related to payables, receivables, and tax
•Lead configuration of NACHA files, bank integrations, and API/EDI setups
•Collaborate with IT and Finance on automation that works…not just conceptually, but in live production environments
•Ensure compliance with all sales tax regulations and filings, including response to audits and jurisdictional requirements
•Own credit policy development and risk controls that support responsible revenue growth
•Manage collections performance and reporting with transparency and accountability
•rack and report on critical operational KPIs like invoice cycle time, DSO, match rate accuracy, and tax filing cadence
•Build dashboards that turn real-time data into insight for action
•Use analytics to identify recurring issues, root causes, and performance gaps
What You Bring
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•7+ years of progressive leadership experience in AP, AR, tax, and credit in high-volume or distribution-heavy environments
•Demonstrated success implementing automation tools, EDI, NACHA integrations, and ERP enhancements
•Expertise in Infor CloudSuite Distribution or a comparable ERP platform
•Strong understanding of regulatory tax frameworks, credit controls, and process audit requirements
•A builder’s mindset - self-directed, results-oriented, and excited by transformation
•High attention to detail with a passion for solving operational challenges at the root
